Several Mid-Atlantic Steel Fab. Assoc. members played an active role in another successful NASCC: The Steel Conference, AISC’s annual conference and the premier educational and networking event for professionals in the structural steel industry.
John O’Quinn and Ronnie Medlock of High Steel Structures each received marquee awards from AISC for their respective career accomplishments, as did Jaclyn Whelan – a Mid-Atlantic local – for her contributions to the railroad community.
Several of our members hosted guests and prospective customers at their exhibition booths. The PENN 2 Redevelopment project at Penn Station in NYC was recognized for an AISC IDEAS2 award for excellence in engineering, and Mid-Atlantic Fab. Assoc. Member Crystal Steel Fabricators was acknowledged for their contribution to the project.
Scott Vesper (Southern New Jersey Steel) and Tony Baffone (MSI FAB LLC) continued their representation of Mid-Atlantic Steel Fab. Assoc. at AISC’s Regional Fabricator Association Partnership Meeting, a bi-annual meeting attended by participants from over ten regional fab. associations across the country. At that meeting, Scott and Tony contributed to fruitful discussions related to tariffs, AISC’s Buy American initiatives, cost inefficiencies, and ways in which meaningful ways in which fabricators can contribute to student learning both inside and outside the classroom.
