Charlie Weir Award

The Charlie Weir Award was established by the Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabricators Association in remembrance of Charlie Weir, who died unexpectedly in early 2015. For 40 years, he was a co-owner of Weir Welding Company Inc. in Carlstadt, NJ. He spent 30 years working alongside his father, 37 years with his brother, Tom, and 24 years with his sister, Allison, and brother-in-law, Ernie. From 1998 to 2015, he served as the firm’s President.

Charlie was an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabricators Association as well as many other organizations. He was a consummate professional who put his heart and soul into everything he did, and our association benefited greatly from his time with us.

We honor Charlie’s memory by bestowing this award on a current member or members who have also given their time and talent to support the Mid-Atlantic Fabricator’s Association.

We are proud to announce that the 2023 Charlie Weir Award recipient is Hugh McCaffrey. Congratulations!
