The Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabricator Association’s new Young Member Group (YMG) inaugural meeting, the Phillies tailgate event, was a huge success!
For those who couldn’t make it, here’s a quick introduction to who we are. The YMG committee is currently made up of Phil Lasoski of Crescent Iron Works, Sean Joyce of V&S Galvanizing, Kyle Heggs of Helcrist, and Eliot Jenkins and Elizabeth Lapira of the AISC.
The idea behind the YMG is pretty simple: connect with younger people already working in this industry and create an awareness so young people outside the industry develop an interest in what we do.
With this in mind, we want to keep hosting events like yesterday’s and continue growing the presence of Mid-Atlantic and the YMG on social media — reaching younger people where they already are, instead of waiting for them to come to us.
This is just the start.
