3. Steel Fabricator Alert: Why are General Contractors inserting professional liability requirements in their contracts? Are you properly covered?

Two of our members, Safegard Group, Inc. and Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC, will present their legal and insurance perspectives on the three issues below:

– What a CGL policy covers, and why it doesn’t cover professional liability exposure/claims.
– Why fabricators who subcontract design work to consultants are not adequately protected by the professional liability coverage provided by the consultant and/or through contractual indemnification.
– Why fabricators who contract to perform design work need a professional liability policy, and the type of claims such a policy provides coverage.
